Environmental & Social Sustainability Policy

The Museum Hotel has a commitment to continually improve the environmental performance of its business operation, and the environmental awareness of its staff.

An environmental awareness action plan has been developed and an environmental awareness committee has been established to address the action plan.

The action plan includes:

  • A framework to record and assess water, gas and electricity consumption, and waste produced.
  • Individual evaluation of suppliers products, services and business practices to ensure current suppliers share a commitment to the environment.
  • Encouraging staff to walk or use public transport both to and from work and in other aspects of their life.
  • To lead and participate in environmental community activities including beach, parks and reserves pollution removal schemes.

The Museum Hotel is leading the way by removing all incandescent light bulbs from the hotel, replacing with either LED or halogen bulbs and by installing motion sensors in public areas where appropriate.

The Museum Hotel is committed to giving preference to suppliers with a like minded commitment to the environment.

The Museum Hotel has a commitment to comply with relevant environmental, public and occupational health and safety, hygiene and employment legislation and any other applicable legislation and requirements and to be known as a good employer.
